    You should provide us some of your writing examples and such. Submit your articles on bookmarking websites will get you out there.. Also, there is a service section in this forum that you should check out.

    If you want to submit your articles to article sites, there are so many Good article sites where you can post your articles. Here is a list of top 50 article sites. http://www.vretoolbar.com/articles/directories.php or if you are looking for sites for guest post. You can find related sites of your niche and request them for accepting your blog or article and if they find your article relevant and worthy they'll post your article. In both the cases you can get quality back links from the sites. for ex: if you write about seo, you can search for online marketing or seo related blogs or sites which accept guest blogs.

    Ezinearticles and Buzzle are the top directories in terms of volume and getting high serps for longtail phrases for article titles. To become a writer you simply register to these sites, do some research, and write a quality, unique article; over time you'll have a myriad of articles all linking back to your main site, or product you are promoting.

    If your are good at promoting affiliate products you can make a sizable income with HubPages. Its certainly not as easy as just being paid by a company like Demand Studios though.

    Article marketing is useful, at the moment, though I do think it will soon be a thing of the past. I have a strong inkling that Google is narrowing its sites on article links as it did on reciprocal links. And the under the hood changes brought about by Caffeine are going to make it much easier for Google to tweak the algos. "Self Service" links may be on the way out ...

    Why don't you just publish the articles on your own website?

    hey, Dcristo:
    i think the reasons for that are:
    1): articles on ehow or Ezine article are way way easilier to rank high than on your own, new sites;
    2): build bakclinks back to your sites/pages
