    I want to know that how to promote Yahoo Groups effectively.

    I would submit it to social bookmark sites and then get links to your group from other sites.

    Try www.meetup.com and place your group in there with a link or reference back to the yahoo. Then do the same in other group/networking oriented websites, like LinkedIN.

    Join other groups and be active. If it's ok to put ads on that group also promote your group.
