How to promote web hosting firm?

    i am starting a new shared web hosting firm, do you have any advice of how to promote it? or how to do marketing for it?

    The best method:
    1) Buy a good reseller hosting . Avoid cheap ones. Prefer reseller with cpanel with server configuration Quad deo core process with atleast 4 GB RAM.

    2) Start advertising using Google adword.

    3) Stay on live chat 24 hours. Hire someone to give live support.

    Your hosting company will grow exponentially.

    If you have budget in advertising you can try Adword but I guess forum is much better.. ... I have also my own reseller hosting right now with 10 clients 2 of them is from here but most of them where my friends and friends of my friends... :)

    I think your cheapest option would be marketing on webmaster forums. Then blogs on that niche. And finally ppc of course.

    thanks everyone for these advices
    but i got one more question...
    So what do you think, is it better to promote web hosting(site) in just one contry, like on every popular site in that country, adwords for just one country, magazines...and than go to promote web hosting in one by one country..i believe that this is the expensive version,but i think that in this version is slower return on investment but i will build a good brand name...

    or to do it global at the begining, but deliver the right information to right public on global level, with good(best) seo, adwords(more users,bigger adwords investments), and most popular forums for web hosting or similar.

    I believe you have to determine your target group first and consider other factors like support. If you are going for global, then you have to provide 24/7 support (preferred for the customers). Determine your targeted market and create / differentiate from your competitors.

    get a dotcom builder account sell .99cent turnkey websites on ebay I did this a few yrs ago worked well then just don't host or sell adult sites or you will get shutdown by paypal lol

    yeah as maxtan says give discount coupons, submit them to sites such as retailmenot.com that will get you a bit of traffic, also buy links on webmaster related sites for keywords such as "web hosting" this will improve your google listings.

    also give hosting away (small packages) in exchange for a link / banner from the hosted site to your company site.
