How to promote through article submissions

I've never really used article submission sites before, and I keep hearing of their benefits. So how do I effectively use one?

Let's say I write a long article that I want to market, let's use Wedsite Ideas - What Kind Of Website Will You Start?.

Would I just submit this article to places like ezinearticles? Wouldn't I lose out due to duplicate content? And if I then submitted it to a bunch of different article directories wouldn't they all just get flagged as duplicates too? Should I just write another similar article and then link back to mine?

I'm rather new to this and can use a good intro. Thanks guys

to avoid duplicate content i recomend rewriting your article, or write a entire new one related to the one you want to market.

If your article is 100% unique, submitting them to multiple article directories is NOT considered duplicate content.

And then would I only be able to submit it to a few directories? What would happen if I then submitted my new article to, say, 60 article directories?

I'm sorry, I'm a little new to the idea of duplicate content. I'm not completely sure how it works...

"Duplicate content" is overrated. Only noobs make it a big deal.

    Don't worry about it.
