Hello to all members, I have found an article that is actually written by a forum member and I found it quite useful, however, I am unsure as to how I can get my forum promoted (I am planning to launch a forum shortly) and if these type of posts will be helpful to get more traffic. if you're having difficulty getting traffic to your forum and getting people to post to begin with (which is only normal) perhaps take parts in a forum post exchange. another option is to ask a few friends to post there and maybe give them free ad space or moderator positions too. the trick is to get at least a core group of people around which give the perception of active discussion. you can start with social book marking and tell the people about your website forums. article submission, forum directories submission, etc. wish helping you. thanks.
First you need to make sure your posts are SEO'd Then you need to try to get links back to those posts with the keywords you want, so you might have to add an RSS feed to the site, or have your own blog to highlight the best posts. You could also send out a newsletter to the current forum users telling them about the latest best posts. As a last resort, if you have some good followers, you could post, or ask your users to post, links to the forum in other forums.
