How to Promote Short Articles?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by Miguel82, Feb 22, 2010.

I currently generate 3x 200 word articles for my site per day. Each article is unique and is focused on my niche and contains relevant up to date content. When I post each article into my news section on my site, I bookmark with 10 of the best social networks including Twitter and then ping using 3 different pinging sites.

The idea is for people to link to these articles to help in gaining backlinks, which in turn will hopefully push my SERPs.

What else would you advise to get my articles out there?

ps. Unable to list on articles directories as the articles are so short.

Submit it to article directories, you can also create free blogs and use it there as well.

If you make your articles a bit longer, you have more options like Ezine etc

Yeah, you should pretty much always be up to around at least 350 words. I can barely write six sentences without getting to 200 words. I can't imagine that you are providing much value to your readers. This does not bode well for getting targeted visitors to your websites.

The articles are this length as they are short, factual and 'punchy'. No waffle (unlike many articles). All articles relate to current events and do not warrent being dropped into a jungle of articles in any article directory.

I'm looking for places that would be interested in displaying my articles on a daily basis.

Thanks for your input so far guys, any other ideas?

I do agree with guys who think that you should increase your articles lenght, it will help to attract customers and post interesting content.
After that, submit to directories..or create a squidoo lens.

    Hi Miguel,

Sounds like you're creating a lot of great content. This is actually just the kind of stuff that Content Crooner was created for. We can market your articles by taking care of submitting them to thousands of directories across the internet, which is naturally great for building backlinks. With so much quality, original content coming through, article marketing automation can really get your material out there and build followers.

    Hello Miguel82,

Actually the hard part is writing articles and as you have been already doing that, you create accounts at various web 2.0 properties like squidoo, hub, tumblr etc.. Hub and Squidoo will really bring you good results but remember you will have to do the bookmarking process to these even! :)

Thanks for your tips guys. I have found that there are quite a few article directories which do allow short articles, so I shall be continously submitting to these. Additionally, I will be signing up to a few web2.0 sites and using each one to add my articles to.

I have a method for bookmarking which usually gets news URLs listed in Google within 20mins, however would it pose a problem if I bookmark the same article 10x (10 different domains Squidoo, Hubapges etc) with the same title and description in Digg for example?

I think everything you're already doing is great. Have you got a Facebook group where you post status updates about them? that could be a good way to publicize them more.

For such kind of Articles try using Hubpage and Squidoo Lense, these sources drive immense amount of backlinks.
