How to Promote RSS feeds?

    I would like to know how can I promote my sites RSS feed, so that others take it for distribution. Its a image feed, so would like to know specifically some tips regarding how to promote it. Also where can I submit to RSS directories, can I get a list of RSS directories? If yes, does it help?

    Check out few social networking sites like squidoo/facebook which are supported by rss feed syndication tools.

    There is a lot you can do to promote RSS feeds.

    1. First it can be optimized (use keywords in the Feed/Item Titles and descriptions etc...).

    2. Submit the feed to sites - http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-submission.htm

    3. Use auto-discovery tags in the header of the website, to signal you have a feed available.

    There are articles on our website that detail a number of different ways to promote, not sure the rules about posting urls so I'm making it non-clickable www.feedforall.com/newsletter.htm

    contest are the best way I guess look for a sponsor and ask you users to subscribe to the feed if they want to join the contest
