Hi, I need a help on promoting my quiz website :qforquiz.com It's free to attend quiz test. So far I tried to post on bookmarks, directories and other SE submissions but still no result. Is there any better way to promote this kind of website? if you know any advanced strategies..help me... Thanks in adv.
You could use the Google Display Network to advertise on similar sites. SE submissions probably won't do a lot for this kind of site unless you're ranking for keywords that people are searching for. Go to the Google AdWords tool and look for some longtail keywords that people are searching for relating to games and quizzes and online games, etc. Also use the Google Suggest dropdown suggestions (where when you type in Google and it gives you a whole bunch of longtail suggestions). Then do a bunch of blog posts on your site targeting those longtail search phrases, then submit those blog posts to social bookmarks for backlinks to those blog posts. That will hopefully rank you for those longtail searches. Also, write some blog posts on something really crazy, really viral, really weird, really controversial. Come up with an angle on something, anything that's off-the-wall and out there. Social share that blog post everywhere so that people are like "omg does this guy really think Miley Cyrus is a man? wtf?" when you share your "Is Miley Cyrus Really A Man?" blog post everywhere. And then they come and read your blog and see your games listed and want to play. When people are in that social mood, the games make your site sticky. If you do a lot of controversial, bizarre, strange blog posts on stuff that's trending/viral, then that becomes the gateway to your site and the games make the site stay sticky. Create a persona, a blog persona, a blog persona with outlandish, weird, controversial ideas that you social share everywhere, and it could turn your site into a destination that people are interested in and then stay for the games and stay to click your AdSense blocks, or however else you want to monetize in the future.
Social Media such as Facebook is the way to go for such sites. You could integrate your quizzes with a Facebook app and FB users could participate, share scores in their wall, much more.
If you're interested in getting traffic from niche relevant sources, then the best way is to use some kind of social media management app and find relevant discussions across the web, so that you can mention you brand there and get relevant traffic in return. Especially it works for Facebook and Google+ discussions. Other ways to get referral traffic include banner ads, sponsored posts, posting your articles on popular blogs and authority niche sites, so that you, sort to say, utilize other sites that get a solid amount of traffic. However, this option is often not free.
Try finding other quiz sites and promote your site there, you can take help of related forums if you are able to find some.
