hi all, i own a small proxy network (check sig) but i need help getting more users. a month has passed already and i am making roughly $2-$3 a day from adbrite and adversal combined. does anyone know any good ways of promoting a proxy for FREE other than submitting it to proxy topsites?
You can optimize your website so that they appear in high rankings for your keywords (related to proxies of course). This will give you a nice flow of organic visitors if you can do this.
one interesting way: step1. join some toplist sites related to proxy, crack, adult or some illegal stuff! step2. put some proxyed link in some related forums, do you know "any???.to" (sorry ,i forgot the link)? and then the traffic is yours!
It is very easy to get lots of traffic for proxy from proxy top site. but those visitor has little value. As 8everything has mention, you gotta work on your website and try to rank high on some keywords, which will give you lots of organic visitor, and trust me... you want those visitor so badly, so start working now.....
Proxy.org does well but has been problematic for some webmasters. Another great way is buying some emails from members here on dp. Proxy groups can also help out. I am working on a new site you can submit to also. Check my sig.
Tell a high school kid about your site who has a computer class lol He'll tell 10 more and they'll tell 100 more... it spreads quicly
Targetting MySpace users works really well as a lot of them are school/college students that can't access MySpace, and thus a proxy is what they need! There are several ways of tragetting these users, just do a search for proxy, myspace on here. You can get proxy traffic more easily but the earnings can be too short living. My proxy site is getting 500 to 600 visitors.I use adsense in my proxy sites, and getting $$ per day. The problem of the decrease in earnings comes from two things : 1) Usually proxy sites having only one page to put ads ! 2) The users are not willing to get anything more than the site except complete anonymity. The trick I use is to change the templates weekly or when the adsense earnings decrease.
share files (mp3, movie...) and protect them with a password which you can find on your proxy website...you'll get very much visitors, believe me... cya

well...i pretty much see these interesting ideas here....but what i want to ask is what SEO can be done on a proxy site except for thse: meta homepage (usually contains not more than one para) thr are no links to build (in the site internally i mean) coz proxies just have one page - the homepage
