Best bet would be social media since trying to rank this site in Google would be next to impossible. Post videos on YT with your games in it and a link to your site. Get a twitter management program and tweet your site through various accounts on twitter. FB works great as well as stated above. Kind of weird though that you accepted a job but apperently have no idea of what to actually do... I feel bad for your employer.
Hire some game developers to create more free games and submit it to another game sites or social networks...you give and you will get.
Create a contest and give a good price like game console or money to play the game and than publish your contest info through online forum game.
Well for this kind of site, I agree that Facebook will be the best option for you to come up with some players. Try doing some viral marketing campaigns to promote your games and make sure you dont focus your site, but an individual game. Make some fan pages and groups and invite people to play those games on your site. Create an event and ask your close friends and colleagues to give their honest and best reviews for every game
