I have created a new affiliate program for a new product of mine. My product is a subscription service and has been in operation for a couple of years. I have finished coding/testing the new affiliate program and now need some assistance figuring out how to promote it. Do you guys recommend just doing adwords advertising to get the word out, adding my site to directories, or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
This is coming from a SEO guy...but I'm assuming that you can start promoting your site with Press Releases (free ones can be effective - depending on what you have), Social Book Marking (you have to form a network of ppl w/ relevant interests), relevant forums/blogs, article marketing (this is big - great referral traffic (again - if the content is interesting) and don't forget to use FB, Twitter and possibly Youtube. You might want to try Google Buzz - though, this hasn't taken off as of yet.
All the Off page optimization SEO techniques can help you promote your affiliate program, but above all this, you need to understand that maintaining relevancy is very important while using any of the technique. Catering potential customers should be your primary aim while promoting.
Blogging, Article submissions, ads n classifieds and press releases works really fine for promoting an affiliate program. I would suggest you to get yourself come good contents and start marketing them well with your affiliate link embedded in it. Chao
Hi AJ, I do affiliate program promotion for a living so am happy to share some ideas with you. Some affiliate forums allow free or paid program announcements you just need to find the ones that do. Search for "affiliate forums" on Google. Some allow a new program announcement and others don't. Several affiliate forums do allow blatant new program ads. Read the rules, some you have to have a certain # of posts, one you have to pay for some don't allow even a sig, it just depends on the forum. My own 5 Star Affiliate forum is one that allows affiliate program announcements - feel free to announce your program there. Directories wont get you much in terms of affiliates, but you should still get listed in the top dozen or so. Here are the TOP affiliate directories according to Google, based on popularity. Submit to the top 12 or so here: http://www.google.com/Top/Computers...ffiliate_Programs/Resources/Directories/?il=1 (Skip #2 it's no longer a directory, skip my 5 Star directory as it's not an open directory, it's only for clients.) The directories are free - it just takes some time. Targeted PPC ads can work well too. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Like someone above said rightly - You need to get some smart affiliate marketers to promote your product.
Make Press Release about some of the Bonus Offers you offer in your affiliate program. This can create a hype.
