Hi, ive set up a graphics board. Id like to know, where i can promote (where i should start) and what i should do and stuff. Just some advices?
1. Put your forum URL in your signature 2. Participate on other graphics related forums and if they allow announcements, post your forum there. 3. Ask your close friends to join your board. 4. Put new tutorials, free brushes, icons...etc to attract new members. One important thing.. Don't get impatient, just work hard and wait to see the result. Forums are not easy to promote. It takes time. Good luck.
There are so many ways to promote your site. You can buy banners on popular blogs. Put your link in your forum and make good posts. And another idea i thought of yesterday you can make mysapce and facebook profiles and join a lot of groups and get a lot of friends and promote that way
Find other related sites to advertise on. Also I think projectwonderful may have the sort of traffic you need.
Maybe write a few articles about Photoshop or whatever you are promoting, and link back to your site for more tutorials. Then post these articles on article sites, or guest post on graphics blogs.
The top 2 Article sites to submit your articles to (with a link in the resource box that links to your website): ezinearticles.com goarticles.com Hope this helps... - Jared
You can promote this at major forum that have same niche. And you can do press release to gain more buzz
Advertise on those websites which are very popular. But the main problem is that the popular website demand high price. But still there are few website having good traffic and still low prices for banner ads. like www.checkersweb.we.bs
All you need to do each and every SEO tactics, with only one tactic you can not get targeted results.
First add some content to the site... the more content you add, the more traffic you get from search engines. Submit a few pages to social bookmarking sites like digg, etc.
Post some art or posts in other art forums with a clever "i heard it first over here" and link to a similar post in your forum. That way you build interconnectivity.
I think that it is a good idea to have a reference section to the boards where people can check terminology. Having news and content in separate section will also attract targeted traffic. The same is with quality PPC ads.
In my experience I would try and find a contest that fits your site. And then try and copy what the other site did and apply it to yours. It provides a lot more traffic that is pretty easy to get, all you have to do is provide the Prize and decide what they had to do for it.
Forum marketing really does work - especially if you find a highly-ranking forum having to do with the niche you are in. I also use article marketing, blogging. Those work quite well for me, and they don't cost anything.
