How would you suggest i promote my forum. I am interested in trying out many different ways of advertising and promotions. A few of my questions would be. I would suggest purchasing paid posters here on DP. Submit it to social networks (buy that on digg too if you want).

The best site to start your site would be on moneymakergroup.com Check it out you might like it, you can place banners on there site too for a fair price and also upgrade your account so can user the forum to post about your business. Bookmark it at least might come in handy later on for you
I know about this site. Its a good site indeed, and even know their admin.. But one can not market on similar sites. Thats the rule here... They wont accept ads from a competitor site. Appreciate your advice though very much. Regards DL
Yes, as Accelerated Media said, try writing some articles on investments and submit them to article directories. Maybe even use "investment forums" as anchor text to kill two birds with one stone.
I would not use paid posters as I have built forums in the past that were successful and never had to use paid posters. Main thing is have targeted traffic coming into your forum. The best ways to do this would be through Google Adwords as well as submitting articles that are targeted towards your niche. As well try to exchange banners with targeted websites and another thing you could try would be to write articles for websites that will place you link at bottom of article etc, I have found this to be an easy and cheap way to get a lot of traffic
