Your blog looks good, I really like it... as far as promoting it, im not sure other than getting a lot of bloggers to use it and promote it, make a new site for the blog's software following what other open source projects are doing, advertise on adwords...? Oh, you could make another thread announcing the software, than digg it?
I agree with fordP - start a site like wordpress.org for your software, then make lots of press releases announcing it. Bloggers will pick it up and check out your site. If it's worth talking about, you'll get mentioned in their blogs - and then traffic.
I suggest adding some unique features to your script and use those special features as a marketing point. It should give you an edge other the more established scripts.
Yes, make unique features. Or easy to use and update. Why your blog better then for example, wordpress? What platform did you use to implement your software?
Make sure the blog isn't as heavy on the server as WP and then you should get a lot of attention from the big bloggers.
