I think banner exchange wont do well. we need to get people to click the banner in my site. Why should I do that, if I can get more money if someone click my adsense?

There is not really a reason you could not use articles etc, just post about new game releases, tips and hints, new console rumors etc, something to create a little talk can give you a lot of traffic.

There are tons of gaming blogs, what if you write a guest blog for a few of them?

Promoting any site is depends on the relevancy of source pages. Blog comments on relative blogs, forum postings on relative forums and other sources is the good way I think.

It depends. What's hot in the gaming world right now. What are the controversies? What was your take on E3? Is your take different from the thousands of other articles about the conference?

Maybe you could make a list. It seems a little overdone, but they sure do show up a lot. Particularly on the front page of Digg. I assume you read other gaming writers regularly. What are they doing that's successful? How can you twist it yourself? These are all of the things I think about when writing.

Join gaming forum. Add url to your signature with a brief description of the site. Make sure your posts are relevant to topics so that it isn't obvious that you are just there to push your site. Repeat this for as many sites as you can handle. Even smaller niche sites will get you not only some SE recognition, but click throughs as well.
