Just started a forum also and the main thing I learned so far is you need content / posts. Work on getting all the topics populated with good content so when a visitor comes to see your forum, they will see activity. After all, users make the forum.
Get your friends and family to contribute, make lots of posts, then send out a myspace bulletin. Or maybe post on some sort of asian/teen sites. Good Luck
The trick is not to make a forum and then find the patrons, you should already have a high traffic product, program, or website and then offer the forum as a community based from that product, program, or website.
Why it can't be an idea? For example, forum can answer the great number of related questions. And community will based around the person, who is a master in this theme.
could you please inform me on how you created your Anime Forum, i am intrested in creating one for myself. thanks
Run contests, do seo & ppc , make link exchanges write articles with your forum link , post on blogs with your url, advertise by word of mouth
Can you advertise your forum on MySpace or other social networking sites, and how exactly would you do it?
What about websites that reward forum posts with points and then offer goods and services to valued members? I've seen sites that have their own 'social currency', but I cant think of any examples right off the bat. anyway I often wonder about the future of such incentives in the web 2.0 world
I got an e-mail last week from one of my customers on a suggestion I gave her for contacting other members from other boards. She says it is working for her. You may want to try that. Devote at least one hour a day in doing this, and in no tme you'll have a pretty good following of your own.
I tried doing this but did not find too much of a success. The thing is that my forum is new and has got lesser members. With this, there is not too much of an incentive for users to post in a new forum..
