How to promote contests

Hello all,

If you were holding a contest or competition, how would you promote it?

I have a site specifically for this niche and i was wondering how i can get more people to start to use the FREE service, i use Twitter and also have it on several forums but what else can i do to improve activity?

Promoting contests works best via Social Networks, get a few guys from Fiverr to do it for you.

I checked your website. I think the text is a bit hard to understand. Make it clear - what do you have to do to enter and what will you get if you win. (Are your visitors familiar with Drupal, Joomla, etc.? those names might mean nothing to them. Instead say that the website will contain "discussion groups", "member lists", = features that contestants can relate to).

 

Some tips for you: use a link building policy and only unique content to increase PR of you website.

 

You can try a plugin that's originally built for the promotion part of your contest, it's called contestburner.com it gives every possible way to promote your contest through social media with leaderboards, prizes etc, automation and security.

before you promote your contest, you must explain the benefits and rewards and then promoted through social media like Facebook, twitter, likedlink, etc.
