Hi Everyone, I am looking for some advice for web promotion. We run "web application ideas" contest, and trying to promote it. None of us is a serious marketeer (all developers), so we've hired some people via odesk, posted a PR release, and it does not seem to work, getting just around 10 visitors a day to the contest page http://www.magicwebsolutions.co.uk/ideacontest/ with high bounce rate. What short-term tactics would you suggest to push this? Or maybe the contest itself is not attractive enough? Maybe only known brands can benefit from running such things? Any comments and ideas and constructive criticism is welcome Thanks
Users have to posts ideas about web applications, and the winner gets amazon Kindle. I thought about contacting bloggers, but I think it needs to be done by a specialist to work efficiently. We do not have anyone in house to do this kind of thing, and I've tired odesk/elance and found only those who can submit to 1m directories....
