How to promote coding services website?

    Hello,

I just finished a website where I'm going to offer PSD to XHTML and PSD to Wordpress template coding services. I will have a team of coders, so everything should go smoothly.

The only problem is how get clients in a short time range? I was thinking about some advertising on design related blogs, however there are many advertisements of existing competition which could be needless financial loss. Also I started submission of my website to some CSS galleries, but there is no guarantee that my site will be listed.

I would really appreciate some creative ideas or any other way of marketing help (if you own a web design related blog and want advertising, you can let me know too)

    Thank you.

Well I would suggest set up and elance account with your sites URL in it...
You can get some work that way and potential returning customers.
These customers will tell others about your design services and site.
Also SEO would be real good if you don't want to spend a fortune on advertising.
Just a couple things I have thought of to get you going.

I see a few issues with your plan...

I think it is going to be very difficult to get enough business to make this worth your while....

    Here's how I see it...

Taking a PSD and slicing it is only one part of the whole design process. When most people look for a web design service, the want the whole deal...They want everything done for them. They usually don't look and hire one designer, then one slicer, etc...you know what i mean? And people who are skilled enough to create their own PSD of their website can usually slice it themselves.

I think you have two options...

    1. Partnership
    2. Full Service

    1. Partnership. You could try and find a web designer and maybe persuade them to outsource their slicing to you.

    2. Full Service. Hire a designer or create a partnership with another web design firm.

Both of these ways offer the customer a full service solution for web design and you can get a lot more business that way.

    Just my opinion, though...

Different webmaster forums could be a good place for you to advertise. Also work with social networking sites where bloggers hang out.

You can promote it by using press release and squidoo lense

Seems that some good tips are coming. Thank you for them.
I like the idea of partnership. I've already contacted some designers here at DP, so I will see if I find some good one. It would be really great if it could work this way too.

    Once again thanks to all.

P.S. I'm still hungry to some ideas ;-)

    Actually I disagree.

I learned a LONG time ago never to hire a graphic web designer who claims they know code, & vice versa.

I have yet to find one person who is skilled in both & I don't mean skilled with average talent, I'm talking great design, great code.

So, we ONLY hire one person to do one task, & the other to do another task.

This way we don't get people who pretend they know what they are doing (90% of the internet), we actually get people who do know what they are doing.

That's my point of view after years of being ripped off by unskilled workers.

    Thanks

    Michelle

Sorry, off topic, but webscosmo, isn't your site www.webscosmo.com just a remake of CL?

Looks exactly the same layout (not talking design) & category headings to me.

Well, you might be the exception. You are the first person I have heard of that would approach a project in this way. Most people hire a full service web design firm that will do everything for them, from designing to slicing. Maybe you are just not looking in the right place or hiring the wrong kind of people...

Right, & most people don't understand how websites are created. I do.

    Thanks :)

You have no idea what you're talking about. There's plenty of designers who code and coders who design. I've hired many of them myself over the years for various projects I've outsourced. Quit making this industry look like a bunch of hacks in all your posts. Ego trip much?

Ok, so my point of view means I'm on a ego trip? LOL

Darlin, I have the right to my opinion just like you have the right to yours. I don't appreciate you flamming me b/c you don't agree with my opinion, but it's clear you get easily irked by other people's points of view that don't match up with your own.

    Sad

High and Mighty exoticpublishing! Let me bow down to thee, your majesty!

A quick search on google about your company reveals the following, so I don't think I'm alone:

    www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/294/RipOff0294369.htm
    www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/225/RipOff0225671.htm
    www.talkhomebusiness.com/scams-rip-offs/3766-michelle-exotic-publishing-scam.html
    http://exoticpublishingscam.blogspot.com/

lol, and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

It also seems on this site (owned by you I'm guessing), that all you do is post the private information of your customers:

    http://michellereviewsescortagencies.com/

Do you know how illegal that is? You're lucky you haven't been reported to the FTC yet. Not to mention the fact you totally act selfish, egotistical, and self centered in every post you made on that site. YOU HAVE THE EGO MY DEAR, NOT ME. You are the one who is sad. You sound depressed.

Anyone thinking about doing business with exoticpublishing, I would suggest you don't. Just do quick google search to reveal all the dirt about this scammy company.

I think you need to work on your business plan. Take the time to really think, and identify your target audience. Do a market analysis, find where are your competitors marketing. Do you want to advertise on sites that only webmasters (other coders) visit? You won't get much business that way. I would target small business. Put on a tie, and start hoofing it. It's time to go cold calling.

Hmm, never saw this nasty post until now.

I won't take up too much of my time, b/c work is more important than dealing with nasty mean spirited individuals, all I will say to those of you reading this is...

It's amazing people who live in fear will be quick to believe negative nasty comments, but they won't be quick to read ALL of the testimonials from clients who I love & adore & are happy with me or Exotic Publishing.

    http://exoticpublishing.com/blog/is-exotic-publishing-a-scam/
    http://exoticpublishing.com/blog/the-rip-off-report-exotic-publishing/

Those people I outed on my other site either committed fraud, or were nasty mean spirited people & didn't even make it to the level of being a client because I don't service people who are nasty. Money isn't my main motivator, quality & nice people is.

If a person proves to me that their credit card was stolen & they never purchased one of my business kits, then they are taken off. It's really that simple, but I do NOT go around putting ALL of my clients' private information on my site LOL.

You clearly didn't read carefully, you just went out of your way to try & put me down & flammed me which I'm beginning to realize is who you are as a person. That's why you go out of your way to try & pull up dirt on me instead of really getting to know me as a person. And I also see you hide yourself in your profile, just another one of those workers who tries to hurt people & hides behind the computer.

Do you have a last name, do you have a website so we can try & find out who you are?

With almost 1,000 Exotic Publishing clients, less than 1% make it onto that site. It is my duty to help clean up the escort industry & I won't apologize for doing so. Everyone is now forewarned which helps me keep away the nasties from even purchasing my products.

As for the other sites, Rip Off Report is a scam (I have tons of links posted there & they will eventually be brought down) & the other blog is from 2 or 3 independent contractors who were either nasty, lied about their skillset, did sub part work, or just disappeared.

I don't tolerate people who lie, try to grab quick cash from companies, disappear after being hired, or treat companies like they are garbage just b/c they can hide behind a monitor. I will continue to out freelancers who play these games online & cost professional companies their time & money.

Happy & proud to be Michelle from Exotic Publishing
P.S. No you aren't alone, you've taken the side of the nasties. Not once did I ever tell anyone not to do business or hire you, but you sure did that to me.

I rely upon sensible intelligent people seeing through your deep seeded anger.
