How to promote an unfamiliar niche topic from ClickBank? Let's say I like coffee, and if I choose to promote a water product, totally not familiar, is it not a good idea?

Well, if that's the case, what I would do is, before you start anything, get familiar with the topic of which you will begin promoting. Maybe read some articles or ask for a review copy of the vendors product (most vendors will kindly do so). Trust me it helps to know what you're talking about.

    Good luck!

Well, taking your avatar into account, maybe this isn't that hypothetical. If you have a chance to sell more products to the same visitor, then you should absolutely become more familiar with all associated products. Just do a little reading, and you have a new blog post/ sequence/ article, etc. Unless you are dealing with something that is overly technical, than you should explore the related products.

Just do your research! Look up and read articles and study the niche. Find out what the main problem is that the product you're promoting is solving and learn it from the buyer's side. This way you can create your articles and do your promotion appealing to the potential customer in the best way for maximum results.

Find out what you sell - try it out! You only loose your reputation once!

It's fine as long as you do your research. Make sure your information is good and so on.

Don't try to sell water to a coffee-drinking market, though.
