How to promote an RSS feed?

    What do you think are the best ways to promote an RSS feed.

    I am trying to gain subscribers to my feed and would love to hear some ideas on how I can improve my subscriber count!

    For one, I would use an automated tool to submit your RSS feed to several RSS directories. One is called RSS Submit. Just do a google for it.

    Promote it on your site nice and big. Look at how problogger does it on his site and I do it on mine. Pretty much doubled my count with it up there above the fold.

    In order to get the maximum benefit from your RSS feeds you need to register the URLs with as many places as you can. If you have created more than one feed you should do a little preparation before you start the registration process. Registering your feeds is time consuming, but worth every minute you spend doing it.

    I suggest that you create a Word document with the feed URLs so it is easier for you to copy and paste them to do the registration process

    Submit your feed to free blog hosting websites like squidoo, hubpages and all.. where you will likely to get a backlink as well as as free subscribers.
