Well, Promoting is quite easy. You can promote your e-book by advertising or spamming. There are no more ways to promote. Hopefully this will work for you.

I installed something yesterday, 24 symbols.

    http://www.24symbols.com/releases

It's like spotify but for ebooks, you can promote there.

And also all the things they already said. Blogs, websites, facebook, news.

Easiest way to do it. Let hundreds of thousands of people sell it for you. Just give them the tools they need and a quality product and you should benefit very well.

E-books are a great teaching tool particularly if you are selling a complex product. My advice would be to make sure you have already established yourself as an authority on the subject for which you are providing insight. You must be able to show that you have appropriate research and success already. I can't comment too much about the publication of e-books, but if you are thinking along those lines you might also try developing a webinar to get potential users interested.

Good reviews are important to every book. So, collect some good reviews, post them both at fiction and digital websites. This will be a good addition to promoting on personal blog, social networks and forums.

You can start your promotion by announcing about your new eBook on your blog, forums, your email list, your Facebook friends and your Twitter followers. Also getting in touch with people who have a high influence in the industry can be a good way to market your ebook.

Also try paid marketing using tools like Google AdWords, Microsoft AdCenter or Facebook Ads can be a powerful way to make an impact in the online arena. Lastly try SEO by creating an informative website about your subject and then creating top notch content.

    The In-Expensive way...

Generate buzz for your book using PR and then sell your book on Amazon. That way you can
sell your book as digital and phyical product. Just use Amazon free service CreateSpace to create
    your book whenever someone orders.

    The Expensive way...

Team up with a experienced JV like Wille Crawford, to bring huge amounts of affiliates for your book.
This will most likely set you back $20k (these guys anit cheap) but a guy like Wille can bring in over $1M
    sales with just a ebook

The great thing with selling on Amazon is that if you can get on on the best seller list in your category, then Amazon will prompt the book for you. It becomes a snowball.
