How to Promote an eBay E-Book

    Hi

I've just spent the first 6 months of this year buying and selling on eBay to get myself out of a no job, no money kind of fix. Over the last couple of months I've written an e-book on what I did, and how I did it.

This isn't a make your fortune, explode your earnings on eBay kind of thing.

Just something that got me results.

I've created a little site, and now I'd welcome some advice about how to promote it. I'm not a hugely technical guy, and my past efforts with Adwords gave me the view that it is a very good way of spending a lot of money very quickly.

Basically, I'm willing to invest in some ads here and there, nothing very expensive at first, but enough to get me going.

Anyone have any recommendations for this kind of E-book?

    Thank you

Half joking half serious. Put the book on ebay as a buy it now. Within the description, put the site address. I dont know if ebay allows that or not but I only buy on ebay, never have been a seller. Even if the book doesnt sell, it may drive traffic to your site.

You could also go to websites that talk about making money online and offer them your ebook for a write up on there website and or a link back to your website so the viewers can purchase it.

Are you still selling things on eBay?

Loads of people buy things and then sell them again on ebay so putting under your item description a little link to your site with some info about your ebook might get you somewhere.

Also as gr81 suggested, putting your ebook for sale will at least give your ebook some publicity and might get you a few clicks to your site and even some sales.

    Good luck!

You can't have a link in your eBay auction to an outside page unless it is describing the product being sold in the actual eBay auction.

Also the page that is linked from your auction can't be selling the product. If there is a button or purchase form eBay will cancel your auction.

ppc first to test and rework, then max bounty or clickbank when you tweaked it and it is PERFECT.

eBay doesn't like it, though I believe its still possible to get away with it sometimes.

Thank you. I've slowed things down, because I've been concentrating on writing the book, and setting up the site and the ecommerce/download things.

Links on eBay descriptions are part of the methods that I've used. However I've used these in ways that give me and the bidders maximum benefit, and also stay within the eBay rules.

I was also going to suggest PayDotCom. They have great features for affiliates - very easy to set up a campaign. I just set up my first a few weeks ago, and have sold over 100 copies of my book :)

I personally think you if your good at selling on Ebay than you need focus selling your book their. You should have good results if you've had them already.

    Good Luck

You could also give a free chapter as sample. If it's good, I'm sure that will encourage people to buy it.

Thank you. What I've done is put 2 extracts/samples on the site at pergollenbooks.com.

As the book has a real ISBN number, for the publishing industry, I've also entered it in Google Books. They ask you to upload the pdf of the book, then they do their approval bit, then I think , you select how much you want to show on your entry in Google Books.

Its still in the approval process at Google Books, after that I'll decide how much of it to display.

Try to find out some blogs relevant with your book's topic.
Some groups in social networking site who may feel interest about the subject.
Discussing these two places and target marketing could be good solutions.
