how to promote a social networking website

    give some points/gifts to members of ur site for inviting there friends.....

    start any contest
    and say them to add ur site to delicious and other bookmark sites,
    and use google adwords
    and give cheap / free tshirts, hats, caps, mugs ( use jinx or somthing like that, dont remember, sorry bro )
    start a profile / page on other social networks, like facebook

    well actually its depend on, who is your target, wats their age? gender ? location?
    so ideas will depends on this,
