How to promote a site that offers free advertising?

I'm promoting a site that allows users to post as many 3 day rotating ads for free. My question is how do I get lots of traffic to the site. So far I've come up with these methods.

    Method #1:
Write 10 articles on "free website traffic" or "free classifieds" and submit them all to ezinearticles.com

    Method #2:
Comment on blogs that discuss about free website traffic leaving a link to my site.

What are some good ways to get more traffic to a free advertising website.

Send your site URL to social bookmarking sites.

You won't see a massive amount of traffic from them directly, but creating Digg and Propeller new articles really helped boost my website in the search engines for my keyword, obviously bringing me more traffic. Also, create a few Squidoo Lenses, Hubpages hubs, Blogger blogs, and Wordpress.com blogs - as these provide even more backlinks, and also bring you some traffic directly.

That will work, however, you must take into consideration that many people will think there's a limit or catch with free advertising, so make sure in your postings to those networks, you state the details.

And don't forget overall website design, user-friendly interface, and browser compatibility. You would want users to really "use" the site, and not just visit it and leave 10 seconds after the page loaded.

You could sign up for PTC sites - either exchanges or ones that pay their users to come and click things. Just a thought.

Again the only permanent way is going natural.. that is to attract natural search engine traffic. Pick the long tail keywords of your niche and target them by optimising with content

Agreed, post articles on Digg.com, viral-market on Myspace & Facebook and post in blogs and forums with your site's URL in your signature.

bookmarking/submitting to social media is best
as people there are already looking for free traffic.

    Get a Addthis.com button.
You basically get all the social network sites.

You could leave comments on other blogs equally promoting free advertising, ensure that the comments adds value or else they might be removed
