What is the best way to promote a proxy? I tried submitting it to some directories, but I only get 2-3 visit from them. Most of the visits are, surprisingly, Direct visits (even though the proxy is only 3 days old), and on the second spot is my blog (where I posted about it). How can I promote my new proxy so I can get more visitors? 10x for your advice and sorry if this has been answered a million times already.

Simple. Search this forum, using "proxy" and you will find a ton of threads where you can have your proxy advertised for free or to pay to have it advertised.
Have $100 to spend? Advertise on google (use content network and set the cpc to a very, very low amount).. this could help you attrack users quickly and get you listed hopefully (hoping people backlink you)
