I do hope someone answers this but simply I really do not think you can "promote" parked domains. Why not make them into quick websites with wordpress? You can list them as sub-domains with the same ads. Stream content from other existing websites into it. Then link back to the orignal content. Just another avenue to promote your main site imho.

I just sold a parked domain through Sedo Marketplace they are a very trustworthy company that has a ongoing auction.

i thought about making a second site...but already to much work with the sites I have now..all the submitting..and link building..figured I just park it...throw ads on it ..and see what happens....
and I def thought there is no sure way to promote a parked domain with no content...just guess it will come up in the search ques some how..(but how to get it there lol ) i did submit it to google..so they know its there...
i dont think no one will buy it lol..not worth the 3.99 I paid for it...and still dont know how I paid for it..think it was half price for buying the main domain....but yea...ill keep it parked..and focuz on my other sites...see what happens and let it expire after a year

You would be surprised I just sold a domain that was parked and thought it was not worth a penny either. Your probably right .info domains don't sell well compared to .com domains. I made the mistake when I first started it wasn't by accident.when I started puchasing domains I bought all the domain extensions. Well I learned quickly hehe.

But I hear you its a pain to do all that work. People think it is simple but alot goes into it.

Correct. The idea behind "parking" a domain is making money from the traffic it already gets - most parking websites will actually ban your account for actively promoting your domains.

I did not know some would ban you but I could definately see why. When your promoting a domain without content you are actually "tricking" people into thinking it is a site with content. Thanks for that tidbit.

you are not supposed to promote parked domain

however if you want to sell it, you may direct cheap auto traffic to it to boost its alexa rank and make it look more valuable in the rank of potential buyer

You could always set up a blog, pump some relevant feeds into it, let it get several pages indexed in Google, then take down the blog. A pretty common practice among domainers to judge by discussions at DNF, NamePros and elsewhere. You're not delivering fraudulent traffic, and not pumping stats to a potential buyer -- you're talking about legitimate pages of a non-monetised blog that is no longer online. Think about how many parking pages you've probably discovered yourself that way -- SE links that end up going nowhere. You'll eventually lose the links of course, but a three-month "seeding" period followed by a three-month testing period could give you an idea on whether the domain has any potential to sell, develop or leave parked (or drop.)

Earning from a parked is surely a bad idea. It won't make you any money, it would be better to create a blog and promote it.

Actually, there's always a way. It's not black hat, not quite white hat either, I would say somewhere in the gray area..

I forgot to mention, if you have a good generic type in traffic domain, service or product related (we're talking about a high quality domain with existing type in traffic) you can always advertise it via print/radio or other mediums... As I said, there's always a way of generating type in traffic to your domains.

Create a one-page website for it rather than a parked page - parking is worthless unless you're getting hundreds of type-ins per day. Otherwise you're hoping for a nickel here and there.
