How to promote a new online shop?

I want to open a international online shop on electronic products. I have good sources, but I really do not know how to promote it.

I have found many comparison shopping engine online, such as nextag.com ,thefind.com and bizrate.com, I thought they will be helpful for me, but , most of them cost much, according to the click, similar with PPC.

So, do you have any other ways to promote a new online shop, the products on it are cheap. Except forum, blog,articles.

By the way, some online shopping habit is helpful for me. For example, if I want to buy a cell phone onine, I will go to ebay and tabao fisrt. What will you do firest?

Hoa, i think you should firstly try using opencart as it has features like you can use SEO keywords and meta tags on each and every product. this would help your site alot and could get you alot of customers, let me know if you want more info

Open up an affiliate program with a leading affiliate network and offer a datafeed of your product line. That may or hopefully should send some affiliates your way to help you sell your products.

If you can't do that, then look into Googles shopping, I think that may be free to add your products, well it use to be.

If you can't do that, then try and do SEO and get organic visitors which hopefully will buy your products.

If you know something about SEO you should try to promote your store on your own. Firstly use any open source shopping card like OSCOMMERCE. Do Onpage optimization of your site and promote your site by using article marketing, newsletter, forum posting, social networking, email marketing etc.

and if you don't know SEO then its better to hire some SEO to promote your site for better result.

 

Just do everything you would for any other website. Write articles about electrical gadgets (or whatever you're selling), some for your site and some for article directories; submit links to a few good directories, especially electrical ones if you can find them; try some social bookmarking; create a facebook page and link it to your blog/shop rss feed so new products get posted to your page, like this http://www.facebook.com/thegadgetguru or this http://www.facebook.com/CoolestGadgets and pay Facebook for ads so your page gets plenty of fans; open a Twitter account for your store to make little announcments etc.

Those should keep you busy for a while, well actually forever if you do it right.

i think you should try the free marketplace for a while if you don't have enough investment in the beiginning, if you ahve, you can try the paid one,i use prostore.i feel it is very good.
