    I have a general talk forum with various types of topics, but I do not know how to promote it. So far I have over 10,000 backlinks, but still I am not exactly getting many new members. Should I simply focus on adding more content?

    With the help of forum poster and back links possible to promote a forum. Actually in this situation forum poster really works a lot.

    hi there, also one strategy to promote your forum is to buy an advertising spot on popular forums like this one and warriorforum - that is if you have allotted spending money for the advertising purposes. :)

    You can try to buy posts from freelance workers. Forum posters can post at your forum for as low as $0.05/post. You have to build a community first, before it becomes successful.

    Make list of good forum site and add your forum on that list and post in blogs and promote in search engine. There are many site for off page resources you can submit your forum there and the best way to make your forum popular do regular activity on forums related to any industry and tell about your forum there. If anyone posted thread on your forum than try to reply the best answers.
