Target social networking sites like myspace, these are the places people usually hang out most of the time.
There are tons of things that you can do. You can look for related forums and post there (with your link in your signature of course!). You can start a blog about dating. You can do article marketing. As an added benefit, your blog and your articles could both be promoted on social bookmarking sites (like Digg or delicious) or social networking sites (like Twitter or Facebook).
I would recommend heading over to fiverr.com for some very cheap but effective outsourcing. You can buy website submission, articles, and backlinks for under $20.
You can start by article marketing. Write and post articles related to your dating niche, and include a link in your signature. You can also post on forums and blogs (include your link). You can submit your site to various directories, especially dating related directories. You can definitely use social bookmarking and social media to promote your site. However, I'm not a huge fan of this. I find it's a lot of time and effort for very little benefit. Remember that every link (probably) helps, but it will take a lot of work and a lot of links to build solid traffic. I would say that it will likely take a good solid year of marketing and link building before you will start to experience some form of success. However, this really does depend on how much time and effort you spend.
Adwords, Facebook ads and CPM ads. If you don't have that budget, it will probably be hard to get going. A lot of dating websites use fake profiles in the beginning, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Is it related to a specific niche or just any dating site? Given that there are millions of them out there already, you need to figure out a way to make it unique. Then target social media markets, and entertainment blogs and let people know about your dating site. Another advice I would provide to you is to give it away for free to build your initial membership. Once you have a decent size then you can focus on charging people (if that is what you want to do to monetize your site). Good luck.
You should do different submission techniques. such as: article submission bookmarking directory submission classified submission.
i think you can facebook advertise too.. target your prospect.. it is man or women? and what is his or her age?
Most important is the content of a site, your site must have good things to attract people first come to your site Try to keep these people
I'd recommend fiverr for some cheap SEO outsourcing. It will let you get a lot done at a small price.
Try running text ads on PlentyOfFish.com (a free dating site). You can target your demographic using parameters such as Age, Sex, Income Level, Ethnicity, Religion, and so on. They use a CPM bidding model, but you can easily show tons of ads for as little as 10 cents per thousand impressions.
I would go to Yahoo Answers and post answers to questions about dating topics. Give long detailed answers in all of your posts. At the end of your post, give a link to your blog that has a link to a dating offer. This should help you generate some cash.
you have to try different submission techniques like directory submission, article submission, bookmarking etc.
