    hi,

I am building a article submission site. Till now I have written most of the articles on my own(or taken from public domain). The traffic is almost NIL as it's new. I have submitted to paid directories and got some good links for the site(from p5 pages). But I need traffic!!!

Other than ppc What are the ways which can get me traffic and atleast get the site recognized ?

Post quality articles that people like first of all. And, then post on forums like mad with your signature link.

If you allow people links in there article you could post here or on SP for people to submit articles and get a link back as in the links in the articles.... should help get you some more articles etc..

Post in freelance writers' forums, announcing a place for people to submit their articles. They always keep their eyes open for a good one.

Also, what makes your article submission site different than all the others? If you're newsworthy, get a press release out over the newswires. If you're not, then why not? Work on changing that. Try to come up with some unique feature to make your site more attractive.

Personally, I'm a big fan of guerrilla marketing efforts ... spend as little as possible, and get the biggest impact. Be creative. I have an article with some tactics on the Consulting & Freelance site that's in my sig ... or just check out the official site at www.gmarketing.com. Every client I've worked with has had more success using guerrilla techniques than dishing out money for paid directories and advertising.

You may want to contact the auto- and semi-auto article submission services and see if you can get added to their lists. This would probably provide some residual submissions if you're able to hook up. :)

You can ask people on DP to submit their articles. I'm sure many people here have articles already written.

Try more forums, even if they are not SEO related.

    Good Luck

If you submit articles with valuable and useful contents in good article site that have good reader base there is the chances that ppl will discuss about your article in forums and blogs, you can also get some bio links from those article sites.
