My site is http://www.lolstupid.com. It's an entertainment site, short little snippets to make fun of the news. What I've been trying to do recently is to go against popular thought to get some attention. I can do directory submissions, I know, but I can't do article submissions because my topic is kind of hard to write an article on. So what I wrote was a post that pretty much flames World of Warcraft. I got attention pretty quickly. My traffic for that day tripled. I tried to keep the momentum going but in a slightly less harsh way by flaming racism, an idea most people will hate. That hasn't worked so far. So my question to you: Should I keep writing articles that degrade popular things (WoW, Myspace, etc.) or should I find some sort of alternate way to really promote the site for what it's for (getting people to go to lolstupid for the entertainment)? If you choose the second one, can you please elaborate?
