How to preview php page without coping to htdocs?

I'm using macromedia dreamweaver to develop my php pages. As I know to view the page on my computer (apache and php already installed), I have to copy the file to htdocs folder under apache, and then type http://localhost/test.php to view it. In dreamweaver, there is a preview button, now how to work on my php files on dreamweaver, and then view it by just clicking the preview button? So we don't need to copy the files to htdocs folder to view it every time.

I don't think it's possible. You could however add a symlink in your htdocs folder to your dreamweaver project folder. (I think) Then you wouldn't have to copy it.
