How to prevent supplemental results when selling generic products?

    Hi,

    How do you feel its best prevent supplemental results when selling generic products?

    For example... If I was a store selling games consoles and games. If I was added a ps2 to my store I would list the generic manufacturers details on the product etc...

    ....so would another 1000+ stores on the web. Would this be classed as duplicate content, then a supplemental result? If so whats the best practise to stop this?

    Add value. Add content, reviews etc. Change the manufacturer's description and get enough links. That will avoid Supp.

    you could always try and find an easy way of making the text a picture and adding ALT text.
    eg. a picture of the PS2 specs and then an ALT tag saying "PS2 PlayStation 2"

    Also, pricerunner and kelkoo might be good affiliate programs for products you don't have or have instock etc.

    you can not prevent supplemantal results. this means that googlebot has not visited your supplemental page for a long time.

    if you want to prevent , you must update your site daily and find more and more links
