Lets assume you have a domain thats PR7.. and its about to become PR3 after the next update. How can you cushion this? More PR backlinks?
how did you know its going to be a PR3 after the next update? Don't tell me you used one of those PageRank predictors
Yeah. I took a chance on the PR predictor.. and I want to make sure the domain isnt going to drop like a rock. PR7 is nice, and will monetize nicely, thus, I want to prevent a drop or atleast make it less severe.
always check your backlinks especially your high pr backlinks. some people link to your internal pages, make sure your internal links are working.
just follow this - check back links on msn and yahoo bcoz google is not updating frequently - and do more link exchange if your back links decreases - try maintain quality of site - purchase trusted links
trusted link have some of the criteria - Domain should be old - link page pr is high - theme should be related to your site - there should be less outgoing links on that link page. there might be other criteria also.i hope other members will list it here
link on high pr sites. check the number of links if it has dropped. always manage to put fresh content. doesn't really necessarily everyday. simply put, never put your site hanging there without minding it. (for blogs, this is true in my xp).
You could have also linked to 1 banned site, It only takes 1 link to a banned site to destroy your site, be very careful of this
one of vauge SEO term and theory. I think you are refering to Trusted Rank or Authoritive Sites. I wish there is a website that lists all the authority sites, so we would know and based on the list, we can find some common things that can be applied to determine which sites are more authoritive. But what I have been noticed is that authoritive sites pass PR points as well as help your ranking at SERPs. While your site can gain PR easily as long as you gain backlinks, even sometimes you don't need to think about relecancy much. But ranking at SERPs is rather harder and PR often doesn't reflect directly to your position in SERPs. Besides the domain age factor, which is not an absolute way to determine which is an authoritive site, I would simply check their rankings at SERPs also. Doesn't Google rank websites based on the importance? So if a site is ranked high, you can say it is recognized as an authority site in that niche. For example, if I try to find an authority site in computer, I would simply put general term for computer. You would naturally find Dell, Apple, and other big ones. And we all know they are well recognized big computer comanies. The key is the keywords that they rank high with. Keywords that are more general otherwise every single site would be authoritive
Out of the 20 sites I was monitoring with the page rank predict tool, only 1 was right. To me, that rate seems worse than just guessing.
