    sign up at https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/

you will then be able to set your "Preferred domain " ie with or without the www that should help as far as google goes.

also use htaccess to redirect non www to the www version if possible depending on what server you use.

also make sure you links (internal and from external sites) are consistant with one or the other.

Because they are two unique and disctint urls. As such they are treated as different pages.

Most probably you have backlinks pointing to your site in two different ways, with www. and without the www. (direct on http://). You should concentrate on one of the both, with or without the WWW, also when you link to your site you should decide (and link that same way from all other sites) if link as yoursite.com/index.htm or yoursite.com/ it makes difference.

place htaccess in your site to redirect the none www to www. because the two url considered to be not the same site.

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Please REPLACE www. newdomain.com in the above code with your actual domain name.
