pretty obvious that you're making some money if running ads, don't you think?:)

I'd still like to know why all of this is necessary. A number of people use my computer, but I don't have to tell them to not click on my ads, or any other ads for that matter, because they aren't going to just run across any of my sites.

Is it really necessary to modify so many computers to block so much, for so little a chance?

If they did visit sites with your ads, that's where the problem is!

Let's say your website is number 1 on many search engines for a keyword that relates to your interests and, not surprisingly, some or all your family members, about your town for example, your family name, antiques if you and your wife are collectors, or a sports team that happens to be your and your son's favourite. But these are just a bunch of many cases where you could find people at your computer viewing your websites even if they don't know that they're yours, and even if they did know, they could still click by accident or simply negligence, even if you warn them previously not to!

    Understand my point?:)

For some, not for all I understand, it's not uncommon to worry...

You can use PHPAdsNew to deliver ads on your site (it's free). Using this you will have the ability to limit ads by Client IP, Domain, User agent, Language, Weekday, Time, Referring Page, and/or Source.

Thanks, that's all I needed. In particular, it was response to this:

It sounds like you're planning on modifying the hosts file for at least four computers. As far as I understand, G only knows about the IPs that you've logged into your account with. If you haven't logged into AdSense with all of these computers, it would be unnecessary to modify the hosts file for all (effectively killing the AdSense revenue for any of the sites they visit).

If you have logged into AdSense with all of these computers, it's time to stop such practice and stick to one computer. Setup some email tasks through G if you need to check your stats every day, but will be away from your primary computer for a number of days.

Sorry, I'm just strongly against the blocking of G-Ads (although not against pop-ups) :)
