I made a new forum, and i am only writing on that forum. There are no real other members and i do not know how to populate a forum. Will anyone please suggest me about populate a forum.
I am assuming you want other members to help add content, so I suggest you try posting on places such as Facebook or Twitter. Or try doing guest posting. It may seem really boring or time consuming, but you will be surprised how rewarding spending an hour or two on doing so. I wish you the best of luck. ~Cody
I also going to create a new forum here is the tactics that i going to use. Create some section and put some article with info (So when people visit your forum, they see content, so you forum, don't see new. Put your forum url, to your primary website (If you have one) Participate in other forum and put you url in the signature. Use Social Media to increase your forum members
My fiancée and I just started up our own forum. We currently have 142 members in a little over a week I believe. How we have advertised our forum is by posting on Facebook and Twitter, as well as advertising and asking for reviews on other forums. Many of our members have came from other forums, where they advertise our forum in their signatures. So far that is all that we have done. Once we have more members and content we will expand on this. As for now, this is a good start. I wish you the best of luck with your forum. If you are interested in checking out what we have done so far here is a link:http://geek-2-geek.com/index.php
In my opinion Guest posting is a right way for this. Otherwise different social media like facebook, twitter and so on will helps you to populate your forum.
Yeah, sorry about that. We have been getting Ddosed for like the last 3 days. Some little skiddie is upset that our forum is doing better than theirs. Feel free to check back later if you want
No idea what niche you're after, but friends that started a forum on a common interest got it off the ground by each using a few logins, then using the forum whenever they had questions or wanted to talk about the topic. That way they started to seed the long tail keywords and made the forum appear active. If you're on you own it will be a hard slog, but it's totally doable (you'll probably start to feel a little crazy though). Good luck!
My forum has 181 members and over 2000 posts. It has been open for about 2-3 weeks. The only ways we have advertised it so far is on other forums, facebook, twitter, and of course word of mouth from our friends and other members. Good Luck to You.
abida i also have the same issue i had an old forum with content but it was mainly tech related so i added some general categories and looking for some help my forum url is www.discusstalk.com
post some comparison stuff.. compare dresses.. compare people.. compare cars.. use a hard tongue! this method attracts conflict-lovers
haha, sounds like a community in distress! Try Postloop or Google "forum post exchange" You can create a thread on DP content section for a forum exchange.
The most common way is to create several avatars, create some engaging topics and answer yourself to them. The key is the quality of the content and to be sure that your board has friendly URLs for web crawlers. For example, each topic URL should contain the title's words, instead of just an id. Also, it's quite important to add links to social networks on each page.
Use social media to promote your new forum. You can also use reddit or other forums to promote your own forum. Log in to other forums and ask users for reviews or to check your forum and see how they like it. Another great idea would be to create a blog around the topics that your forum will cover. In general it is easier to promote a blog. Once you have enough traffic you can direct it to your forum.
