How to point domain name to new nameservers?

    Hi there,

I've got a domain hosted at Plus.net. It did have hosting elsewhere, and the A name was provided to connect to this hosting and it was working fine.
However we've decided to host the domain elsewhere with our own webhosting package. We've got nameservers - ns97.eukdns.com and ns90.eukdns.com.
I've tried going to configure the domain, selecting the CNAME option, and in the left field entering ns97.eukdns.com and in the right field entering ns90.eukdns.com but nothing seems to work.
All thats happening now is that the site is reverting to a really old version which used to be hosted on the Plus.net free supplied hosting package.

Any idea what the correct setup is and how to get the site pointing to my new host?

    Thanks for any help

It takes a bit of time for the domain to propagate to the new server.

Yeah the thing is I waited about 8 hours then when the changes did propgate they weren't correct. So now I'm waiting another 8 hours but I don't know if I've even set them up correctly...

If you were seeing the older version of the site it probably means the propagation hasn't finished yet. Give it at least 24 hours.

Plus net have got back to me and said that I'd have to have the domain registered elsewhere in order to use those nameservers, so unfortunately I'm going to have to transfer the domain elsewhere.
Now I've got an issue because Plus net dealt with the emails of the site and I don't want to lose those when I transfer...

Username means your domains username ...For Eg :- If you have a cpanel server , just login to your server and fire the command as #/scripts/whoowns domainname and you will get the username
