How to ping only when posts go live ?

    Hi everyone,

Pings are automatically done when you hit the publish button, even if you decide to change the timestamp for future post. In this case the services pinged will not find any new content and may consider this as spam.

So what to do for pinging only when the posts are live. I've heard about Smart Update Pinger plugin but it doesn't work anymore for WordPress 2.1+ versions. There is also the Post Schedule Ping Optimizer that requires a cronjob and it doesn't work for me.

So is there a solution for not risking to get banned ? I want to automate many posts.

    Thank you

So all you beautiful people (happy halloween) and super bloggers, do you have a solution or can't be banned even with a queue of 30 posts ?

You're right ! Actually I should have updated this thread, the Post Schedule Ping Optimizer plugin I mentioned has been updated too and no more cron job is required.

You can find it at MaxBlogPress, the plugin is MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer and it works fine for me. Look at it here :
