Just found a GREAT blog post about how to dig deep inside yourself, which is a good place to start - to find a good niche. It's about finding a good niche for your 1st blog but the same thing applies if it's your 1st affiliate site.

Then again your 1st affiliate site might be a BLOG -
so see - it all fits together no matter how you cut it!

You cut and pasted that word for word from my forum.
    Those were my words!

Why didn't you give people the link so they can read how to pick their 1st niche?

I don't know if I can link to my own site, but if you Google "How to Pick Your 1st Niche" the 5 Star forum post comes up #1.

It's not easy, but the best is to concentrate on what you know best. There's a niche in everything.

    yup.
the best 1st niche that you can pick is your passion.
now ask yourself what is your passion?
there you go... your very 1st niche.
    hope this help! :)

I didn't make money with my first site. I was trying to teach people how to make money online when at that stage I didn't know how to myself, lol.

The second site was a winner though. I focused on a topic which was less competitive and I enjoyed more.

I agree with everything said here. Wouldn't it be cool to get paid for doing something that you actually love and enjoy doing? Once you have found your niche, you can also help more people by sharing experiences and advice.
