I am setting up a service for business's that requires a monthly fee from them. I am based outside of the US but I am targetting business in the US. I am hiring a sales rep to sell the service and I am going to give them a percentage of the monthly fee that the business's will be paying. Is it possible to set up a bank account in the US without living there (So I can accept checks) or should I just use paypal....some business's may not want to use paypal though
To open an bank account, you must to have a (home, bussiness) address of the country where the bank is, to be that bank account pointed to. Otherwise its not possible legally. You can accept checks abroad as well. There is no worring about it. In that case you just should use a third party's payment process (Paypal, Moneybookers..etc.) Personally, I would always use Paypal, as you can withdraw or send money to all over the world, Who has paypal account.
I have a service provider who is able to provide a US bank account along with a debit card attached to it to NON-US residents. He's not cheap but the service he provides is very unique and he does a great job. Drop me a PM if you interested.
