    Hi there,

What are you looking to put on the harddrive?

If you're wanting todo windows you can actually use the built in partition system inside windows, same with linux. If you're wanting a stand alone program todo it you can check out gparted.

    Thanks,

We would need more information to give you the correct info. If you're starting a fresh HD on a fresh system. As stated, Windows and Linux will do it for you upon install. If you're adding it as a 2nd HD you can use windows as well or many other programs. Just need to know the Sitrep.

Go to my computer --> manage --> disk management and click to initialize the new disk. Then right click on the raw data and create a new partition.

You can use default windows partition manager when you install Windows OS at your fresh harddisk. This is also same if install at Linux. You can divide before installation the operating system.

You also can use other free partition manager, but it it have to be run at operating system.

Use your Operating system install disc, if you are within windows just go into disk management control panel.

In the Windows Installer you can allocate how much partition size you are using for your windows folder and then the rest is up to you to distribute how many partition you will have.

Use the Windows installation disk to boot your computer and after performing the preinstallation scan, windows installation will begin. Before proceeding installation, you will asked to choose the existing partition as you are having a new hard drive you will be requested to create a partition to load windows. Follow the onscreen instruction to create a partition.

you can use disk management to partition your hard disk
or try some professional partition software, especially some freeware. You can find the suitable software in some download website, such as download.com, then enter some keywords, like partition, or partition manager... And choose the software with the top downloads.
