how to overcome the recent changes in google algorithm

today is a horrible day for me, Google changed the algo and my sites positions were changed dramatically.

huge difference in my ranking.
guys, how can I bring back my position.
We were doing massive link building thats the reason for this.
Do i need to stop the link building now ?

 

most of the peoples are complaining it,i wonder how it goes with many of us,i hope i m not affected with it at all,since i already had a worse experience with panda last year

 

you should keep your link building, but this time focus on quality and rellevant backlinks, not just big amount of comment spamming or profile links. As always, it will take the time, but you'll be back to where you were and if you focus on quality it should never happen again

Many are discussing on how to get the old ranks quickly as it is affecting the livelihood of many.
This time, I hear from much more and even from google, you should not depend on SEO alone to build your business.
Lets share the points and ideas to bring back the position as it was before in this thread.

 

I've been badly affected in the last 24 hours +

I've used Web 2.0 sites, article marketing, guest posting, the usual blog commenting, SM, all done by me, by hand. I did a little bit of BMR, literally 2 or 3 links.

However, I wasn't penalised in the recent changes of the last few weeks, which targeted link networks but I was hit yesterday which was targeting over-optimization. I was always careful to vary my backlinks.

I worked really hard to provide useful content for my readers who left appreciative comments and emails.

I'm probably going to give up on a few sites now because there's no point in continuing as the traffic has dropped so much and I've spent hours and hours creating content that now no one is going to see.

I no longer understand what to do in terms of SEO and promotion after 6 years blogging – if you build a link with anchor text you seem to be asking for trouble.

same here.... my site's keywords was changed and my site not cache after 13 april, what can i do plz tell me........

 

This happend to many websites . google updated to reduce the spam . you have to wait for some time may be your keywords acquire good position again. its advisable not to do article and blog submission for now. you can do directory submission , forum posting and classifieds submission . blog websites did too much spamming .

 

Google this time came after white hat seos ... lolz ... did all spammers finished ...?

you're not alone with this major update...a lot of sites experienced a huge change in some keywords too, including my sites

 

I think this is one of the best tips for all of us.
STOP the link building and wait & watch wahts happening and then take next move.
Till stop your link building, this seems to be a good step now.

I would suggest any webmaster to keep checking Google webmaster quality guidelines and optimization tips for standardizing the website's content and improving the optimization.

ranking has totally gone one of my site. when I checked ranking on 25th Apr, all keywords were not showing any where in SERps. the site is not showing on any position when I search complete title of the home page. website is caching on daily basis. Please advise. Is it Over SEO Optimization penalty or any other issue?

 

Thus most of the marketers update their strategy as well some of them uses keyword variation and careful with their content since Google is very particular when it comes to this matter.

i am sure hight quality contents are still very important.

 

Give little rest to those who got exhausted after the updates. restrict your link building to good bare minimum and let be good page rank sites only. Check your content too and see if you have doing any kind of link farming activities in the past.
