How to optimize your website for Bing

Hi I would like to know the tips and tricks to optimize a website for bing. What are the ranking factors used by Bing?

 

I think they are pretty similar to this for google and yahoo.

 

It is the same as for MSN earlier

 

Honestly I do nothing in MSN or Bing.. what I did was just
promote using my SEO knowledge and also by doing some
searches.. I guess that was a good way to generate traffic from
different SEs

 

if u get good rank in google then there is no need to optimize for bing

 

not necessary.. both have their own algos

I think its too early to optimize for bing,

i don't think they have fully indexed all websites on the internet! It's a difficult process they may need months, before you can see what factors do and don't work when it comes to ranking in bing

 

A little off topic but I think the video Search in Bing is interesting...

the tumbnails play perviews! My advice, get some optimsied videos on your site.

Honestly , I don't think it will be a big difference between Live and Bing ..

 

I agree, most seo:ers only optimize for Google as they have a 75% market share. This article on seobook can be a useful introduction to the difference in algorithms (nb: info on msn can be outdated as msn been binged). Cheers.

 

Thanks for your suggestions. The video search in Bing is really good. I feel bing is better than the old MSN and Live search.

 

Just put "how to optimise web site for bing" in the different search engines and see which gives the best results. Google is still the best?

 

Bing loves anchor text in the inbound links.so it is the most important for bing optimizing.

you need to do some good link exchange with those sites who ranked well in bing and also follow their back links.

 

Try getting more links from social networking/media type websites - blogs, forums, bookmarking, etc. - especially blogs. We have then this help significantly more for Bing organic search more then others. Best of luck.

 

as for me I just do focus my ranking on yahoo and google....because majority of users use either google and yahoo.

Bing is nothing.
Google = Unlimited Visitors
Bing = Visitors ?

 

You are only thinking in terms of traffic but you should think in terms of quality.
For example, Bing users have better CTR on a website than Google users: http://muiomuio.com/marketing/which-search-engine-has-better-click-through-rate

On the other hand, how much can it hurt you to be on top of Google and Bing SERPS?
