hi im just concerned bout my page titles on my wordpress blog.I use optimal-title plugin that shows titles like this Homepage: blogname - Description Posts: Post name - Blog name so what can i do with the titles for better SEO my blog is http://www.pod35.com
Write good post titles. Just remember that you are optimizing the title to entice clicks from the SERPS as well as to add keywords so that you get there in the first place.
I would write clickable titles before good seo titles. They won't do you any good at the top of the serps if they don't make people want to click. I'm lazy with my titles, but if you want a good one, you should spend as much time on choosing the best title as you do writing your post. A lot of times I'll put my keywords first, then follow with a hyphen, then a brief explanation or question....does that make sense? For example: Weight loss - 5 quick and easy tips Bad example, but you get my drift...I hope.
You are including the post name in the title, that is a good method in itself. You could also try using a plugin that adds meta data according to what the page contains.
personally I think that the best titles for SEO are: for homepage: blog name OR description (depending on the keywords you focusing) for single post pages: post title The fewer the keywords the higher the individual value of each one, that is why I dont like the blog name on the title of single post pages, it dillutes the keyword density
