I know that Yahoo has the worth but in SEO Yahoo has no any good results. Yahoo always get any non quality websites in backlinks also nofollow links which has no worth regarding SE. I always optimize my website regarding Google webmaster guidelines and got results in Google and Yahoo also even i don't bother Yahoo.

Just request link back to highly ranked and easily discoverable sites which should help your site a bit but thats only the first of many steps to achieve a very high pagerank. I got a PR4 simply because since I got thousands of hits and thousands coming from search results I believe Google analytics actually influenced my pagerank in a positive way.

Also the key to even achieving a high page rank possibly without linking to thousands upon thousands of websites is to have highly fresh content every single date because the site I run is a news site so I get to keep adding new articles almost all the time (Sometimes I lay back and sometimes I keep working) and use the platinum seo wordpress plugin (which is free btw) so I was able to tune every keyword for every article I created myself or mirrored (with a link back to the source) from a interesting mainstream site so that caused many people to find my site via google under many different keywords. Also the key to good rank is to create a lot of good art or images (Remember use a few relevant keywords as your image filename) and before you know it google images will index your images thus attracting more visitors which will eventually lead your site to having a super high PR rank.

Just be patient, add lots of content, keep your content fresh at least each week, and I believe it's ok to mirror news sites sometimes as long as you link back to them and keep their copyrights on the article you mirror but also create your own opinions and content and eventually you will float to the top rank without any cheating and without any black hat seo methods.

I hope you learn from my honest ways of getting a high page rank and content is king.

 

In my experience, seo for both google and yahoo are almost same.
just follow the instruction for google.
I optimized one of my site nepaliunicode.tk for keyword "Nepali Unicode converter" in google, in google it is in position of 7, and in yahoo it is in 3 , so my opinion in both are almost same

Actually Google has more of a market share than what you stated.

 

I agree your point of view. My website have 80 to 90 percent traffic from Google.

Imho there IS a difference between Yahoo and Google, they are definitely not the same. If they were the same then the search results would have been the same for the same keyword on the two different SEs.

Often people argue in favour of Google, because of its dominance in the SE arena. You may only get 20 or 30% from all the other search engines collectively. But can you afford a 20 to 30% drop in business? Whatever the Google figure may be, it is a global figure and it may not be the market leader in every single market worldwide.

 

even if everybody says that the process is different, I think that SEO an backlinks are equaly important to both search engines.
