    Hi

There is a few ways to make PHP more SEO. Change the titile tags from yoursite - page to page - yoursite.

Also removing alot of extra and pointless links in PHPbb3 can also increase crawl speed.

PHPBB3 does had a SEO mod which rewrites URLS and stuff. Google "PHPBB3 SEO". Many people do have issues installing this mod. I suggest creating a backup and testing on another forum other than you main one.

Optimizing PHPBB3 forums can be done, lets face it out the box this forum software really has not taken in to consideration any SEO. A pointers to help you here:

    1) The URL's in PHPBB 3 when pointing to topics and forums are terrible and most importantly meaningless to Google and us! Thats why you want a URL rewrite tool which will rewire URL's to include the name of the post within it as opposed to just having numbers referencing to the post in the database!

    2) Also the way that the meta tags are produced is not optimized, therefore there is a dynamic meta tag producer which can be installed to ensure that the correct information is injected into these meta tags, meaning that when your website forum and its pages are displayed within Google they will have meaningful descriptions and will be ranked for the correct keywords!

    3) Last and not least it would be a good idea to install sitemaps mod so that you can constantly keep Google, MSN and Yahoo updated to the forums content!

For more information and to get the mods for all the above visit PHPBB Forum Search Engine optimization

    Hope this helps guys! :D
