    I hope that following tips will help you to acquire the right knowledge in this area.
    - performance paradigm (you have to be on the lookout for bottlenecks for your website and keep solving them one after another in order to achieve and maintain good performance);
    - optimization has to be in three dimensions (server side, Network/HTTP and browser);
    - enable magento caching (it is probably the basic and the first step towards the Magento Site optimization. There may be many caches in the Magento Admin Pannel and you need to enable them);
    - disable Magento Modules that you are needed (when you disable the Magento Modules that are not needed, there are fewer resources needed. There is a configuration option present in the Magento Admin Pannel which you have to disable);
    - compress images (images are core designing element ofyour Magento Web store. The images that are used by Magento skin require optimizing along with the catalog images too.

    In order to establish which extension (or collection of extensions) are best for your Magento store when it comes to SEO, let’s first take a step back and look at some fundamentals, and think about what problems the extension is solving specifically.

    With SEO it comes down to these three essentials:

    • On-Page Technical Optimization
    • External factors
    • On-Page Content Optimization
    You have the most direct control over the on-page optimization.

    ---

    On-Page Technical Optimization

    On-page technical optimization covers things like:

    • 404 redirects
    • sitemaps
    • duplicate content issues
    • 301 redirects for old products
    • .htaccess and robots.txt
    • etc.
    For the most part, these issues are handled by Magento itself. That said, there are a number of instances where Magento’s default functionality isn’t quite optimal, and in some cases downright bad for your store.

    This is where extensions like MageWorks SEO Ultimate and CreareSEO come in. MageWorks SEO Ultimate is one of the best extensions on the market, and CreareSEO is a great free option if you don’t have much budget available.

    You could also use general tools like SEM Rush and Moz that also help you to identify things like broken links and duplicate content.

    Currently 90% of the SEO extensions for Magento fall into this category.

    If you have magento 2 store then you have more chance to be it more fast. The world is moving fast, and people’s attention span is decreasing. Even for online shopping people opt for it because they can save a lot of time and efforts in the process. So, speed and good performance is central to the success of any ecommerce store. And when we are talking about performance of your Magento 2 site, it’s not just about the page load speed, but every function and process a customer has to go through from searching for products to the checkout process. Performance optimization is an integral part ofmagento developmentand cannot be underestimated. Magento 2 has fixed many issues with the previous version, but there is still a lot you can do to improve performance of your Magento 2 site.

    If you have a Magento 2 site, the following tips can help you speed up your site.

    1. Server requirement and configuration
    The server is the foremost factor affecting the site’s performance. If your server doesn’t function properly, your website speed will never be optimum no matter what you do. While you choose a host, always go for a dedicated server or VPN. A shared hosting option is a strict NO for Magento. To optimize your costs go for cloud hosting plans from leading players like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure. Also, check your Magento 2 system requirements to ensure that you are using Linux x86-64 as the operating system, apache 2.2 or 2.4 web server, PHP 5.5, Nginx 1.8x, My SQL 5.6x database, a valid security certificate (SSL), Varnish 4.x, Redis 3.x cache storage, and memcache 1.4x. Also make sure that self-signed certificates are not supported and there’s a latest version composer to manage modules easily.

    2. Optimize Images
    An ecommerce store is full of images and banners for obvious reasons. To make sure that the images aren’t affecting your site’s performance, optimize them accordingly. The images that appear on the main site should be compressed for less data usage and easy page loads. While the product images should be in JPEG format, PNG and SVG format is recommended for logo and layout of your Magento 2 site.

    3. Enable Flat Catalogue
    One of the problems identified in the slowdown of Magento 2 sites had been the read speed of the database. If your Magento 2 store has a wide range of products, you are likely to face this problem more. To increase the read speed of your database, you should enable flat categories and products. By doing this, you can minimize the number of database joins done when it shows the products. It leads to the reduction of MySQL query complexity and your site’s performance is improved. To change the settings, you can go to your backend settings, select ‘catalog’ from the ‘configuration’ header, and mark ‘Yes’ for the ‘Use Flat Catalog Category’.

    4. Optimize JS and CSS files
    CSS and JS files are used to make your frontend look attractive but at the same time adversely affect the speed of your site. If you are using Magento 2, fortunately you have a way to tackle this without compromising the fancy display of your site. You can merge JS and CSS files to increase the speed of your Magento 2 site. To change the settings, go to backend and select ‘configuration’ from the ‘stores’ icon, and further open the ‘developer’ tab from the ‘ADVANCED’ header. Here, you need to change the JavaScript settings to ‘Yes’ for ‘Merge JavaScript files’ and ‘Minify JavaScript files’. Similarly, go to CSS settings and opt ‘Yes’ for ‘Merge CSS files’ and ‘Minify CSS files’.

    5. Choose the right Content Delivery Network
    Content Delivery Network or CDN is an interconnected system of distributed servers that delivers web pages and other web content to the visitors. It is based on geographical proximity of the user and origin of the web page. The system helps your visitors to load the pages faster and therefore you should choose a Content Delivery Network by keeping in view the features provided and its coverage range. To setup CDN, you can go to ‘Stores’ from your backend and select ‘GENERAL’ from the ‘configuration’ tab. Here, go to ‘Web’ and insert your HTTPS URLs in the secure base URL. This will help your Magento 2 site to load faster for your customers.

    6. Set off Code Generation
    Code generation enables you to bring aspect oriented programming, generic programming, and other techniques to the languages that do not support them by default. By setting off code generation, you can improve your Magento 2 site’s performance and add unique features to the default setup. To initiate code generation, you can follow two ways:
    • The first is by performing it on the fly. Use a meaningful name that follows a certain pattern to declare a class. The system will then auto load the class. If not found, the class will be generated.
    • The above method can slow down the system so as an alternative; you can use the command line. Use the command “magento setup:di:compile”. It will speed up the system and generate the necessary classes.
    7. Use Full Page Cache
    The power of full page caching lies in its ability to store the full page output in the cache. This decreases the server load for when consequent pages are loading. If your Magento 2 website had a high traffic, full page caching is almost compulsory as it keeps the server load low and avoid downtime at times of high traffic. As the server needs are reduced by getting all rendering pages from the cache, the performance of your website improves as a result.

    A faster ecommerce store get better conversion rates than a slow processing website any day. With so many alternate options available nobody is willing or patient enough to bear with slow transactions. Even Google has started penalizing websites with slow loading speed. So, keeping in mind all the points, it’s really important that you take a few steps to improve the speed and performance of your Magento 2 site.

    Often, one page is accessable by different Urls on Magento. For example: site.com/product and site.com/category/product. This is bad for seo, fix it in settings
