How do you make a site look local in the eyes of Google? Does our site on tutoring in Raleigh appear local to Google?
I would say googles algorithm will recognize the frequency of north Carolina, nc cities, plus the phone number being local. i would say google will recognize as local. also if you havn't already, create a local business listing in googles local business services
Google detects addresses, phone numbers, city names, geographical data, etc. Optimize your site using information such as this will cue Google into indexing you locally.
All you have to do is use the proper localities in the titles, descriptions, content, and anchor text for your links.
You can register in google maps & google business for locally... So you can get benefit from that..!! & another good thing is that google is not taking any charge for registration..!!
By everyone else's replies it seems a lot easier than I originally thought. Google is smarter than the average bear ;-) <---- google probably saw 'bear' and thought I was talking about the sports team.Let's optimize this page for chicago, lol!
